Amritsar, located 32km from the Pakistani border, is where you will find the Golden Temple, the holiest shrine of Sikhism. We visited the temple, which happens to have some not-so-happy lessons in history, and later strolled about the city. Although we only spent 24 hrs in Amritsar, we ended up going to the temple 3 times as the sights are constantly changing in the different light and at night….
